Privacy Policy
Last updated: 6 October 2026
This policy explains how we look after your personal information when you visit our website, make an enquiry, or deal with us to arrange finance. We have tried to keep it clear and in plain English.
Who we are
BestQuote Commercial Finance is a trading name of BestQuote Group Ltd (Company No. 11173170), which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN: 804008). BestQuote Group Ltd is the “controller” of your personal information, which means we decide how and why it is used. Our registered office is Dukes Court, 91 Wellington Street, Luton, England, LU1 5AF. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZA460972.
For any question about this policy or your information, contact us at contactus@bestquotecommercialfinance.co.uk or on 01279 909750.
What information we collect
- Your enquiry: your name, email address, telephone number, the type of finance you are interested in, whether you are a sole trader, limited company, partnership or limited liability partnership, the amount and term you are looking for, and anything you write in the message box.
- Information needed to arrange finance: if you go ahead, we will ask for more detail about you, your business and any property or assets involved, together with supporting documents. Lenders may also need identity and address checks.
- Our communications with you: emails, WhatsApp and text messages, and notes of phone calls.
- Live chat: if you use our chat, we keep the conversation and the details you give us in it.
- Website technical information: if you allow analytics or marketing cookies, information such as your IP address, device and browser, the pages you visit and how you arrived at our site (for example from an advert). See our Cookie Policy.
- Form protection: to keep automated spam out, our enquiry forms include a hidden field and note how quickly a form was completed. This is not used to identify you.
Most information comes from you. Some may come from lenders, valuers, solicitors, accountants and other professionals involved in your application.
How and why we use it
- To respond to your enquiry, give you quotes and arrange finance. We rely on taking steps at your request before a contract, and on our legitimate interest in running our business.
- To share your details with lenders and other parties who need them to assess or arrange the finance you have asked about. We only share what is needed for that purpose.
- To meet legal and regulatory duties, including Financial Conduct Authority rules, record-keeping, tax, anti-money-laundering checks and handling complaints.
- To send you news and updates by email, only if you ticked the box on our form. We rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by using the unsubscribe link or contacting us.
- To measure and improve our website and advertising, using analytics and marketing cookies, only if you agree in our cookie banner.
- To keep our website, forms and systems secure and free from spam and fraud, which is in our legitimate interests.
We do not use your information for automated decision-making that has legal or similarly significant effects.
Who we share it with
- Lenders, other finance providers and intermediaries, and professionals such as valuers, surveyors, solicitors and insurers, where needed for your application.
- Service providers that act on our instructions: our customer-enquiry system (Privyr), our website hosting and email provider (Hostinger), and our email-sending tools.
- Google and Meta, for analytics and advertising measurement, only if you accept the relevant cookies.
- Our live chat provider (tawk.to), only if you choose to use the chat.
- Regulators, law enforcement and our professional advisers, where the law requires or allows it.
We do not sell your personal information.
Transfers outside the UK
Some of our providers, including Google and Meta, may handle information outside the UK. Where this happens we make sure the transfer is protected, for example through an adequacy decision, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the UK Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses, or an approved data bridge.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not go ahead: normally up to 24 months, in case you come back to us.
- Clients whose finance we arrange: normally six years after the arrangement ends, to meet legal, tax and regulatory requirements.
- Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe or withdraw your consent.
- Your cookie choice: up to six months, after which we ask again.
We then delete or anonymise it securely.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, in some circumstances;
- ask us to restrict, or object to, how we use it, in some circumstances;
- ask for the information you gave us in a portable format; and
- withdraw consent at any time where we rely on it (this does not affect what we did before).
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. We will normally reply within one month. You do not usually have to pay a fee.
Keeping your information safe
We use sensible technical and organisational measures to protect your information, and we limit who can see it. Please do not send bank details, card numbers or passwords through the website forms or chat. We will arrange a secure way to take any sensitive documents.
Under 18s
Our services are for businesses and adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
